With 27 million liters of high-quality ice cream produced each year, Hennig-Olsen Is is Norway’s largest ice cream manufacturer. A production of this size and quality requires a flexible and highly automated production system. In cooperation with a local supplier in Norway, ITE Østerhus, Eltronic A/S was assigned with the task of developing and implementing a new automation solution based on AVEVA.

Analysis of existing production

To start out on the right foot, Eltronic A/S and ITE Østerhus started the project by getting to know the existing production system at Hennig-Olsen Is and analyzing the requirements put forward by the customer.

As Eltronic A/S has carried out a large number of projects involving AVEVA System Platform, we were able to quickly compare the requirements to the new system with the options available in AVEVA – and subsequently to develop a solution matching the exact needs of Hennig-Olsen Is.
