From student worker to Junior Sales Engineer

Kasper Andersen - Junior Sales Engineer

Being a Global Business Engineering student, I was keen on finding a student job where I could gain some practical experience and combine international sales with engineering. This was exactly what I was given the chance to do at Eltronic. I started in August 2016 as a student worker in the Eltronic SBU Production IT & Automation. My main task consisted in preparing case studies and other sales material. This gave me a good insight in the business and also the chance to talk to a lot of colleagues and customers. In addition to this, I was responsible for the maintenance and further development of our CRM system and I also participated in the preparation of business plans for the department.

Being a student worker at Eltronic has provided me with invaluable experience. Right from the beginning, I was trusted with a great deal of responsibility, and I was allowed to test and implement my own ideas and solutions in practice. When in doubt, I have always had colleagues prepared to help and answer my questions.

In my opinion, Eltronic is a great place to start your career. The working environment is very open and innovative, and - if you are curious and show interest - you can gain insight into a lot of different industries and job types. For me, my job as a student worker at Eltronic ended in the best possible way – with a permanent position as Junior Sales Engineer.

An internship converted into a permanent position

Morten Juhl Pedersen

As part of my Marine and Technical Engineering studies, I did an internship at Eltronic and subsequently completed my bachelor project at the company. When I finished my studies, I was lucky enough to be offered a permanent position as Project Manager in the Eltronic Business Unit ‘Industrial Innovation’, where we work primarily with design and development of industrial manufacturing lines.

Working as a Project Manager is both rewarding and challenging at the same time. I get to use my professional skills working with the technological solutions, but I am also expected to keep an overview of the entire project ensuring that all aspects are considered and that we meet all requirements put forward by the customer - both regarding quality, economy and time.

For a person with my educational background, Eltronic is the perfect place to work. The opportunities are many – you can work with both automation, programming, product development and management - and if you would like to gain international experience, you also have the chance to travel on commissioning assignments.

In addition, you get to work with almost 300 colleagues who are all specialists in their specific areas and eager to share their knowledge with a “new guy” like me.

Apprenticeship with multiple tasks

Jacob Lykken - Electrician apprentice

I started my apprenticeship at Eltronic in February 2016. I already knew a little bit about Eltronic and the type of projects handled by the company from a family member who works here. One of the things that I found most appealing about Eltronic was the fact that the company works with so many different types of customers, industries and projects. This has also turned out to be one of the things that I like the most about working here.

In my daily work, I handle all kinds of tasks. From running and connecting cables, assembling and mounting electrical panels to maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of systems and equipment. I never have two days that are the same. Depending on the stage of the project I am working on, I either work in our own workshop or I am out working at the customer’s site. I always work together with one or more experienced colleagues. They let me handle most of the work on my own, but if I have questions, they are always there to guide me in the right direction.

Recently, my team leader has allowed me to follow an entire project from start to finish. This means that I will be involved in all aspects of the project and participate in the final commissioning at the customer’s site in Germany. I really look forward to this – and to the many other projects that I will be working on for Eltronic in the future.
