A career in quality

Jacob Kroløkke Ljungberg - QHSE Manager

I started working for Eltronic in 2014. I was originally employed as QHSE coordinator, but following organizational changes in 2018, I was offered the position as QHSE manager – a challenge that I couldn’t decline.

Being QHSE Manager, I am responsible for maintaining our ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates. This includes keeping all quality procedures, instructions and templates up-to-date. In addition, I introduce new employees to our quality management system. A task that allows me to meet all new colleagues personally during their first week – something that I highly appreciate.

Safety is also a large part of my job. I work with guidelines to ensure the safety of our employees – a job that also implies participation in the working environment committee. As the person responsible for quality and safety, I participate in a number of different projects across teams and business units. I never have 2 days that are alike.

In my opinion, Eltronic is a good place to work. We have a friendly, yet professional atmosphere, and everyone are encouraged to try to improve the way we do business by asking questions and making proposals for improvement.

A mentor to start out with

Jens Peter Lind-Frandsen - Automation Engineer

I have an educational background as Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering (in Danish: Maskinmester). Although this is not the most obvious way to start a career as Automation Engineer, I became very interested in working with automation and programming during my education. Fortunately, Eltronic was prepared to give me the chance of trying out this career path. I started just after finishing my education.

During my first 4 months at Eltronic, I have been assigned to a project where our task is to automate a system for treatment of ballast water. I work closely together with another PLC programmer who is also my mentor. In this way, the complexity of my tasks gradually increases and I am given more and more responsibility. I am very impressed with the way that I have been received at Eltronic and the fact that I have been allowed to start out slowly gaining the practical experience required for handling a project on my own.

In the final part of the project, I was asked to be Eltronic’s representative during the marine approval test of the system. This was a great acknowledgement and I look very much forward to starting my next project – a lot more experienced and confident than when I started.

A great working environment

Jeppe Bjerregaard Svenningsen - Automation Engineer

I started working at Eltronic in 2013. I have an education within automation technology, and I was hired just after finishing my final trainee period.

My primary tasks include design of control panels and I am involved in the entire process – from idea and concept development based on customer requirements to development and implementation of the final product. This includes preparation of quotations and calculations, documentation, risk assessment, production planning, purchasing and CE marking.

Although Eltronic is a relatively large company, the electrical hardware team sits together in one office. We have a strong team where we know each other well and benefit from our different competencies. The team is always good for a piece of advice – be it professionally or personally.

The flexibility of my job is one of the things that I like the most. We have fixed working hours, but we are still allowed to come and go as we like as long as it doesn’t interfere with the projects we are working on.

The projects that I get to work with also vary a lot. Eltronic develops solutions for a wide range of industries, and during just one week, you can be working with very different projects and solutions.

In my team we develop control panels for our own machines, but we also develop panels for our customers’ machines. We are experienced within CE marking, ATEX, panels for the American market UL/CSA, and we supply solutions to the food, pharmaceutical and marine industries.

Job rotation with success

Søren F. Johansen - Automation Engineer

I started working at Eltronic in 2005 in the SBU Industrial Service & Assembly. I am an Industrial Electrician by profession and from 2005 to April 2017, I have worked as a technician performing a variety of technical and electrical tasks.

After working as a technician for more than 10 years, I found myself looking for new opportunities. I have always been keen on IT, and I have used some of my spare time during the years learning about programming. Instead of looking elsewhere, I asked my manager at Eltronic, if it would be possible for me to try another job role at Eltronic. Fortunately, my manager was very positive about the idea, and in April 2017 I started as an Automation Engineer in the SBU IT & Automation.

In my current position, I work primarily with drawing electrical diagrams in PC Schematic and preparing electrical documentation. Apart from that, I am responsible for performing purchasing for selected projects. During my time in Eltronic, I have worked as a technician on several projects for the same customer. In my current role, I still work with projects for this customer, only now, I get to see things from a different perspective. I can use my experience from before, and I like the fact that I am now allowed to follow the project all the way from start to finish.

As part of my new job role, I will be taking courses in programming and automation. I look very much forward to expanding my knowledge and applying my experience in new areas.
