From student worker to Junior Sales Engineer
Kasper Andersen - Junior Sales Engineer
Being a Global Business Engineering student, I was keen on finding a student job where I could gain some practical experience and combine international sales with engineering. This was exactly what I was given the chance to do at Eltronic. I started in August 2016 as a student worker in the Eltronic SBU Production IT & Automation. My main task consisted in preparing case studies and other sales material. This gave me a good insight in the business and also the chance to talk to a lot of colleagues and customers. In addition to this, I was responsible for the maintenance and further development of our CRM system and I also participated in the preparation of business plans for the department.
Being a student worker at Eltronic has provided me with invaluable experience. Right from the beginning, I was trusted with a great deal of responsibility, and I was allowed to test and implement my own ideas and solutions in practice. When in doubt, I have always had colleagues prepared to help and answer my questions.
In my opinion, Eltronic is a great place to start your career. The working environment is very open and innovative, and - if you are curious and show interest - you can gain insight into a lot of different industries and job types. For me, my job as a student worker at Eltronic ended in the best possible way – with a permanent position as Junior Sales Engineer.
An Industrial PhD - a dream come true
Christina Nissen Kristensen
As part of my M.Sc. within Operation and Supply Chain Management at Aalborg University I started as an intern at Eltronic in September 2015. The internship was established as a cooperation between Eltronic and a large Danish manufacturing company where Eltronic had already supplied a solution with additional potential.
Combining an internship at a knowledge company like Eltronic with an actual project at a large manufacturing company has been an absolute win-win. At Eltronic I was allowed to delve into the technical and practical knowledge gained from working with the manufacturing industry for more than a decade. And by working with an actual project at one of Eltronic's customers, I was able to learn about manufacturing and to test and implement my ideas in practice.
For my master thesis, I was allowed to further develop the project in cooperation with Eltronic and their customer. And as I finished my Master degree, Eltronic offered me a position as Concept Engineer. I started my new job in August 2016, and at the same time I was contacted by Aalborg University asking me to consider an Industrial PhD.
Eltronic was quick to see the potentials of an Industrial PhD, and together we handed in an application focusing on realizing the potentials of Industry 4.0. The PhD starts in August 2017.
The best thing about working with and for Eltronic has been the freedom and drive that characterize the company. If you have an idea or see an unrealized potential, you are free to test it and see it through. Eltronic contains an enormous amount of knowledge and if you show interest and ask questions, you are able to learn so much more than you will ever be able to at university.
Apprenticeship with multiple tasks
Jacob Lykken - Electrician apprentice
I started my apprenticeship at Eltronic in February 2016. I already knew a little bit about Eltronic and the type of projects handled by the company from a family member who works here. One of the things that I found most appealing about Eltronic was the fact that the company works with so many different types of customers, industries and projects. This has also turned out to be one of the things that I like the most about working here.
In my daily work, I handle all kinds of tasks. From running and connecting cables, assembling and mounting electrical panels to maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of systems and equipment. I never have two days that are the same. Depending on the stage of the project I am working on, I either work in our own workshop or I am out working at the customer’s site. I always work together with one or more experienced colleagues. They let me handle most of the work on my own, but if I have questions, they are always there to guide me in the right direction.
Recently, my team leader has allowed me to follow an entire project from start to finish. This means that I will be involved in all aspects of the project and participate in the final commissioning at the customer’s site in Germany. I really look forward to this – and to the many other projects that I will be working on for Eltronic in the future.
