From project manager to QHSE

Louise Andreasen - QHSE Manager

I have been employed in Eltronic since June 2008. The first four years, I worked as a project manager - a very versatile and exciting job where I was in contact with many different colleagues, disciplines and departments in the company. As a project manager, I was also in direct contact with our customers. I have an education as Chemistry/Process Engineer supplemented with a diploma in business administration.

In 2012, Eltronic created a central position as responsible for quality and safety and I was given the opportunity of going in that direction. Since then, I have worked with improving our quality management system, our workflows and processes and I have been the main responsible for achieving our ISO 9001 certification in 2015.

As a QHSE Manager, I also work with guidelines for the safety of our employees, which implies participation in the working environment committee and ongoing support on different projects. My role allows me to participate in many different projects and I often face new challenges related to the safety aspects of the project.

It is really important that Eltronic has given me the opportunity of handling various tasks, that my tasks take me different places in the company and that we have a high level of devolution.

A mentor to start out with

Jens Peter Lind-Frandsen - Automation Engineer

I have an educational background as Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering (in Danish: Maskinmester). Although this is not the most obvious way to start a career as Automation Engineer, I became very interested in working with automation and programming during my education. Fortunately, Eltronic was prepared to give me the chance of trying out this career path. I started just after finishing my education.

During my first 4 months at Eltronic, I have been assigned to a project where our task is to automate a system for treatment of ballast water. I work closely together with another PLC programmer who is also my mentor. In this way, the complexity of my tasks gradually increases and I am given more and more responsibility. I am very impressed with the way that I have been received at Eltronic and the fact that I have been allowed to start out slowly gaining the practical experience required for handling a project on my own.

In the final part of the project, I was asked to be Eltronic’s representative during the marine approval test of the system. This was a great acknowledgement and I look very much forward to starting my next project – a lot more experienced and confident than when I started.

A great working environment

Esben Jensen - Software Engineer

I am a trained tele and communications technician with a subsequent degree in ICT engineering. I have been employed in Eltronic since November 2011.

I perform programming tasks in C#, I draw up database solutions in SQL Server, SCADA solutions, e.g. in Wonderware, documentation such as functional specifications, test specification, user guides and anything else that is needed. I work on projects for our customers and I am often involved in several phases of a project, e.g. quotation, analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation and handover. I work with exciting, versatile and challenging tasks that revolve around intelligent solutions for the manufacturing industry.

At Eltronic, the working environment is great and I have the best colleagues.

Job rotation with success

Søren F. Johansen - Automation Engineer

I started working at Eltronic in 2005 in the SBU Industrial Service & Assembly. I am an Industrial Electrician by profession and from 2005 to April 2017, I have worked as a technician performing a variety of technical and electrical tasks.

After working as a technician for more than 10 years, I found myself looking for new opportunities. I have always been keen on IT, and I have used some of my spare time during the years learning about programming. Instead of looking elsewhere, I asked my manager at Eltronic, if it would be possible for me to try another job role at Eltronic. Fortunately, my manager was very positive about the idea, and in April 2017 I started as an Automation Engineer in the SBU IT & Automation.

In my current position, I work primarily with drawing electrical diagrams in PC Schematic and preparing electrical documentation. Apart from that, I am responsible for performing purchasing for selected projects. During my time in Eltronic, I have worked as a technician on several projects for the same customer. In my current role, I still work with projects for this customer, only now, I get to see things from a different perspective. I can use my experience from before, and I like the fact that I am now allowed to follow the project all the way from start to finish.

As part of my new job role, I will be taking courses in programming and automation. I look very much forward to expanding my knowledge and applying my experience in new areas.
